SCYTHIA

The owners wanted a strong name for a strong boat and settled on Scythia (pronounced sih-thee-a), which is the area where the mythical warrior women were said to originate from. Hudson s dashing interpretation of traditional lines has been wowing narrowboat enthusiasts since the early nineties. This excellent example packs shapely bow, low deck, pigeon box and signature bulkhead rings into its almost 57ft length. Note the 15mm base plate (heavier than usual) and fine underwater swim profile. A powerful JD3 tug engine is situated in its own engine room forward of the beautifully scumbled Boatmans cabin. With a bow thruster it makes cruising the whole system a breeze. With a trad stern, steering in inclement weather is still a real pleasure with the warmth of a range at your feet. Winner of the Mairon Munk Bowl and includes a complete maintenance record, including for the soft furnishings.
