Crick remains one of the highlights of the inland waterways calendar and, despite the scorching temperatures, it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the show.

One of the greatest pleasures of the weekend was catching up with past customers. We enjoyed hearing from owners who are still making the most of life afloat, whether they purchased their boat recently or several years ago. Equally rewarding was meeting former sellers who stopped by to say, “You sold my boat!” and to share their positive experiences of the service they received.

Those conversations are a wonderful reminder that our role doesn’t end when the sale completes, and they reinforce why we love being part of the waterways community.

We also spoke with many people who are considering taking their first steps into boat ownership.

Buying a boat is an exciting journey, and we were delighted to discuss their plans, answer questions, and offer guidance. We hope that, in the months ahead, we will have the opportunity to help some of them find the right boat and begin their own adventures afloat.

We took the time to visit a couple of boats out on the towpath for boat owners who are thinking about selling, and we look forward to working with them in the near future.

The show provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from across the industry. As brokers, surveyors, marina operators, boatbuilders, and suppliers gathered in one place, there was plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss market trends, and catch up with old friends.

A particular highlight of the show has to be taking part in a British Marine Inland Boating masterclass, where Emma Green from ABNB and Nick Beech from Aqueduct delivered a presentation on the Top 10 Things to Look for When Buying a Boat.

Presenting to a full room was both nerve racking, and rewarding, and we hope attendees found the session informative and useful as they navigate the boat-buying process.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who stopped by for a chat, collected one of our boats for sale guides, discussed selling their boat, or simply shared their experiences on the waterways. Events like Crick remind us what a friendly and supportive community the inland waterways sector is.

We are already looking forward to next year’s show, although we hope it will be a few degrees cooler!  Until then, if you are thinking of buying or selling a boat, we would be delighted to hear from you.
