Colecraft have been building steel narrowboats for nearly 50 years and have always been favoured by many professional boat fitters. Demesne was fitted out in oak by her first owner who was a professional joiner. She has been a proven liveaboard for the past fourteen years with the thoughtful design providing plenty of storage, particularly in the aft bedroom, where you will also find a washing machine. The accommodation is currently for two, but with room in the saloon for free standing furniture, a sofa bed could be your choice of seating which would provide sleeping accommodation for guests. Cabin heating is via Webasto central heating (with its own diesel tank) with a solid fuel stove in the saloon for additional warmth in the cooler months. Propulsion is by the trusty Beta engine. Batteries are trickle charged by 2 x 100w solar panels with MPPT controller. When shore power is not available, the onboard 1.2kW Victron inverter should be adequate to cater for domestic requirements. Demesne is ready to cruise/live aboard without modification although if you are keen on DIY, there is also scope for improvement as time goes by.
