Nearly all modern narrowboat shells are built from steel, but some are built from aluminium, with Sea Otter in their time being the clear market leader. They are distinctively different in many ways, but especially for their low maintenance needs, particularly that any hull paint coating is purely cosmetic, hence removing the need for dry docking and blacking. Silver Lining is fitted out in the popular REVERSE style layout. Stepping in from the sociable cruiser stern, she has a 16ft saloon, ready for your own free standing furniture. A solid fuel stove with back boiler circulates hot water to two radiators via large diameter piping, keeping the cabins warm during winter months. Hot water is by engine and immersion to calorifier. The galley is equipped with an LPG cooker, separate hob, an under counter 12V fridge and a top loader washing machine, along with plenty of storage and worktop space. In the corridor leading to the shower room and bedroom is a very useful large cupboard with hanging space. The master bedroom is at the fore with a 6ft 4in x 4ft 0in permanent double bed which extends to a very comfortable 6ft 4in x 6ft 3in.
