South West Durham was a long established production builder whose boats can be seen all over the system. They bloomed from the early 1990s, building a solid client base on Yorkshire waterways and carrying off the national Best Production Builder Award in 1992. Their boats have a sturdy, practical mid market, no nonsense identity. Worthy Fox is an excellent choice if you are thinking of getting afloat. Laid out in the floating country cottage style, that is an aft master bedroom with a forward saloon separated by the galley and shower room. This design has always been popular and is ideal for a couple, a small family or for boating with two guests. For cooler times of the year there is a newly fitted solid fuel stove with a back boiler, which could possibly be plumbed in to the existing diesel fired central heating system. The fitted forward cratch and aft pram style covers increase the useable cabin space and also protect the decks and engine compartment, not forgetting that they provide the perfect places to kick off your muddy boots. Propulsion is by a trusty Beta 28hp engine which should prove more than adequate in a boat of this length.
