An ex-hire boat which may be perfect for a family to reside on, or alternatively with a little modification, the accommodation could be adapted to provide a home office or crafting area for example.

Kennet & Avon Canal, Wiltshire

Price: £

Current status:

For the savvy buyer an ex hire boat can make a great purchase. The shell of Tame Valley was built by G and J Reeves before going on to be fitted out by Valley Cruises. During her time in the hire fleet, she has benefited from an exceptionally high level of maintenance, including cabin repaints and engine servicing. The current layout of eight berths in four separate cabins, includes a permanent double and four singles, which can be pushed together to make doubles, not forgetting yet another double on the convertible U shaped seating in the saloon. To cater with all these sleeping areas, there is a bathroom and separate shower room, both with pump out toilets, making her ideal for boating with family or friends. Alternatively with a little imagination her accommodation could be easily adapted to suit a multitude of uses. In the saloon the fixed U shaped dinette could be replaced with freestanding chairs or a settee, and it may be possible to fit a solid fuel stove. The central and aft twin bedrooms could be converted for different uses if preferred, such as an office, utility, or a second seating area, which would then make Tame Valley ideal for residential use.
