Tanglefoot is a solid, spacious trad stern narrowboat, built by the first owner on a shell from Cauldon Boats. She has an appealing homely feel to her and has proven liveaboard credentials, with plenty of scope for additions should you wish. In a go-anywhere length, Tanglefoot is propelled by a Beta Marine 35hp diesel engine. She has a useful glazed cratchboard with canvas cover over the well deck to further extend the usable space. Heating is currently by solid fuel stove and electric radiators, but it should not prove too difficult to install a diesel central heating system. Hot water is currently heated by engine and immersion. Accommodation is for two with a permanent double bed at the aft. 230V power is provided by a Victron 3kW inverter/charger and the batteries are kept topped up nicely by two 800W solar panels with MPPT controller. The superstructure was repainted by the owner in 2023.
