Waka Huia is a beautifully crafted 1996 semi-trad narrowboat, built by the first owner to a professional standard using oak throughout, on a shell from Mick Cull. She is perfectly set up for liveaboard life with all the appliances onboard that you would need. Her REVERSE layout begins with a well appointed galley at the aft, featuring solid oak worktops, Belfast sink, fridge, freezer, washing machine, the usual LPG cooking facilities and plenty of cupboard space. Adjacent is a Pullman dinette, which converts into a double berth for guests. Moving foward, the Art Deco style bathroom sits midships, offering unique character alongside practicality. The main bedroom provides a peaceful retreat and the forward saloon includes a comfortable sofa that converts to a single berth, making five berths in total. Central heating is by Webasto diesel boiler and there is space in the saloon for a solid fuel or diesel stove. A large array of solar sits on the roof to keep the batteries topped up and 230V is provided by the Victron 3kW inverter/70A charger. The hull was grit blasted, hot zinc sprayed and coated with 2 pack epoxy in 2017.
