Constructed in Poland by the well-regarded Amber Boats, Dougal reflects the boat builders reputation for quality craftmanship. At 60ft in length, she offers generous internal space, making her well suited as a comfortable liveaboard while also providing berths for up to six people when accommodating guests. Heating is via a solid fuel stove with back boiler feeding one radiator and a towel rail, while hot water is supplied by the engine, boiler or immersion heater. Double glazing provides improved insulation throughout. 230V onboard power is delivered by a 3kW inverter, supported by a separate 20A battery charger, with domestic batteries replaced in August 2025. The shower room is fitted with a pump-out toilet and washbasin. The galley includes gas cooking facilities, an under-counter fridge and hard-wearing Corian worktops. Propulsion is by Barrus Shire 45hp diesel engine, paired with a sophisticated Aquadrive coupling to reduce noise and vibration, complemented by a hydraulic gearbox for smooth operation. Dougal was blacked in April 2025, with the engine serviced at the same time, ensuring she is presented ready for immediate use.
