Ellie Rose is a 56ft 10in cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1998 by Pat Buckle on a shell from Andicraft. Externally, she is fitted with a pram hood over the aft deck and a cratch board and cover over the well deck, protecting them from the elements. Propulsion is provided by a Canaline 42hp diesel engine, housed within a soundproofed compartment and fitted with a hospital-type silencer for reduced noise, coupled with a PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox. The interior follows a traditional layout, with the saloon forward and bedroom aft, and is finished in varnished Parana pine and oak, creating a classic floating cottage design. The saloon and dinette is open plan with the sofa creating a single berth. The galley is equipped with gas cooking and an undercounter fridge. The shower room comprises a shower cubicle, washbasin, and cassette toilet. Heating is provided by diesel-fired central heating, supplemented by a solid fuel stove. Electrical systems include a 1.5kW inverter, separate Sterling 30A charger, and two 450W solar panels with MPPT controller.
