Originally named Beatrice II, Nimrod is a striking 59ft 5in traditional narrowboat with tug style forward deck, built by Joe Barclay (Lea Valley) on a beautifully shaped shell from the renowned builder Roger Fuller. Rich in traditional character, her steelwork showcases a Josher style bow, recessed aft panels, hull and cabin side rivets and a stop beam details that set her apart and will appeal to enthusiasts of finely crafted boats. Propulsion is provided by a magnificant vintage Lister JP2 engine, making Nimrod a true gongoozler's delight, with the unmistakable sound and charm only a classic engine can deliver. The interior offers a practical and welcoming layout, with an open plan saloon at the fore featuring a solid fuel stove, adjacent Pullman dinette and galley with compact fridge, gas cooking and granite worktops. A walkthrough shower room includes a cassette wc, quadrant shower and washbasin. The dedicated engine room houses the beautifully presented JP2, while the back cabin provides a fixed double berth, drop table, stove, and classic roses and castles and scumbling. Simple onboard systems include a 1kW inverter, 15A battery charger and a 100w solar panel.
